Ashfaqulla Khan
Ashfaqulla Khan, who sacrificed his life to liberate the country from the English regime, was not just a fearless and prominent freedom fighter but also a wonderful poet of the Urdu language. Ashfa Ulla Khan was born in the Pathan family on October 22, 1900 in Shahjhampur, Uttar Pradesh. Ashfa Ulla Khan himself wrote this in his diary. When the Non-Cooperation Movement started in 1922, Ashfaq came into contact with him by attending public gatherings organized by Bismil. Initially their relationship was limited to Shayari and Mushayars. Ashfaqulla Khan used to show his shayari first to Bismil.
Kakori Scandal
When the revolutionaries started feeling that it was useless to talk politely to the British or to urge any kind, they planned to use explosives and shootings. The revolutionary ideology that developed at this time was completely contrary to the ideology of the old freedom fighters and Gandhiji. But all these materials required more money. That is why Ram Prasad Bismil decided to loot the funds of the English government. He planned to loot the money going to the Saharanpur-Lakhanau 8 down passenger train. On August 9, 1925, eight other revolutionaries, including Ashfaqulla Khan, led by Ram Prasad Bismil, looted the train.

When the English government started to get scared of revolutionary activities, they started holding the revolutionaries without thinking. During this time Ram Prasad Bismil was caught with his comrades but Ashfaqulla Khan did not get caught in them. First he went to Benares and then went to Bihar and worked in an engineering company for about ten months. He also wanted to go out of the country to meet Lala Har Dayal. That's why he came to his friend. But his friend betrayed him and informed the police. Police arrested Ashfaq and sent him to jail. Jail officer Tasadduk Hussain tried to break the friendship of Bismil and Ashfaq by resorting to religion, but to no avail. Ashfaqulla Khan was severely tortured by keeping him in Faizabad jail. Four people were hanged in Kakori scandal including Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaqulla Khan. Separate jails on December 19, 1927
Ashfaqulla Khan was a very good poet. From his surnames Warsi and Hasrat he used to write shayari and gazalen. But he also wrote in Hindi and English. In his last days he wrote some very effective lines, which proved to be the guide for those struggling for freedom after him.
