Tokyo Paralympics 2020

  • It was the 16th Summer Paralympic Games that was held from 24th August to 5th September 2021.
  • It was held in Tokyo, Japan.
  • It was formerly planned to be held from 25th August to 6th September 2020 but postponed to 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic.
  • It was the second Summer Paralympics hosted by Tokyo since 1964 Games, and the third Paralympics ever held in Japan.
  • Tokyo was the first city to host the Paralympics more than once.

New Governors

President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed new Governors in Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand. Nagaland Governor
  • RN Ravi has been appointed as Governor of Tamil Nadu.
  • Lieutenant General (Retd) Gurmit Singh has been appointed Governor of Uttarakhand.
  • Governor of Tamil Nadu Banwarilal Purohit who was holding additional charge of the Governor of Punjab has been appointed as regular Governor of Punjab.
  • Jagdish Mukhi has been appointed to discharge the functions of the Governor of Nagaland in addition to his own duties, until regular arrangements are made.
